In this programme, Shashikala Wagmare, a resident of Mann Tehsil shares her experience with the listeners about her struggle.She belongs to a poor family and is not educated. Shashikala and a group of women few years back started an initiative called as 'Bhishi', where women from the community saves money and uitilise it for their benefit. Shashikala is a happy woman as she manages family and works at farm. Also her husband is not addicted to any drugs or alcohol.

Women often face cruel behaviour of her husband and other members of family for reasons like dowry, not giving birth to male child etc. This episode tries to look into the reasons of domestic violence while seeking its solutions from people who often face it.

Saathi Haath Badhana is a radio programme series that focuses on problems and issues related to rural community, where the programmes are prepared with keen participation of the people.

The episode-5 of the series is based on the fatal issue of child marriage (Bal-Vivah), prevalent across rural areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Housing is one of basic requirements for human survival. The Ministry of Rural Development is implementing Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) with a view to providing financial assistance to the rural poor living below poverty line for construction of pucca house. There are two directions in which the village panchayats can play a more active role in rural housing development. In one direction, there is a need to strengthen the governance role of panchayats: influencing construction of better houses and in a manner so that the village infrastructure is optimally utilised; the land and property records are improved.
