<p>Swaranant Community Radio Station works to cover the entiredistrict by strengthening transmission to provide knowledge on education, agriculture and health alongwithentertainment to community of our area district.</p> <p>Mission:SwaranantCommunity Radio Station, through its activeinvolvement of community members along with the KVK andstaff will reach its listeners to cover entertainment, education,health, employment, entrepreneurship, agriculture, credit, exploretalents, ideas, finance, dissemination of information to the peopleon various state and central government schemes and projects alongwith imparting knowledge on natural resource management, cover cultural heritage, environment and climate change.</p>

<p>As the Suvide Foundation, a local NGO involved in social work, education, women andchild welfare and agriculture at the grassroots wanted to disseminate information concerning the development of the communitythrough a community-oriented media.Setting up a Community Radio Station, therefore, was a logical conclusion. This was achieved with help from the government of India and ATMA.&nbsp;</p>

Our broadcast time changed to have both morning (5.55 am – 10.00 am) and evening repeat broadcast (4 pm – 8 pm). Thus, the broadcasting duration is a total of 8 hours and 5 minutes daily.

<p>Signature Programme: ShethachaBandhawar. Community Participation: The programme topics are discussed among the content management committee members and programmes are altered while also factoring in feedback from listeners. Radio jockey and radio programme production courseshave been conducted to provide employment to rural youth. The Swaranant Community Radio team reaches to the community for outdoor recording and in the processit also ensures that content creation is done in a participatory manner. Innovations in Format: Going by the response to a radio phone-in programme and helpline for farmers and other members of the rural community, it can be said that this innovative format has clicked. Outdoor broadcasting involving the community is to be incorporated in some programmes.</p>

<p>Funding and Partnerships Funding at the time of inception was afforded by the Suvide Foundation&rsquo;s own funds. Procurement of technical items was done through funding from ATMA programme of the government together with some funds of the NGO. Swaranant Community Radio is now empanelled with DAVP and this helps in sustenance besides funding from NABARD and a VKGB-sponsored community-based programme broadcasting and projects undertaken for CAIM (Convergence of Agricultural Interventions in Maharashtra&rsquo;s Distressed District Programme).</p>

<p>MurlidharManwatkar, a farmer from Kawth village was inspired byShetachyaBandhawar, Swaranant&rsquo;sAgriculture Technology programme,and he purchased tractorfor spraying crops with the idea of reducinghis cultivation costs. He also earned more money by hiring out equipment. Other farmers too achieved increased production using technology dissemination programme by reducing cost cultivation.</p>
