Darpana (Awareness about HIV/AIDS) (Kannada)

This programme is based on magazine format deals with awareness about HIV/AIDS and calls for active participation in the fight against HIV/AIDS across teh country. HIV/AIDS is a cause of concern for people across the globe.The programme was held in collaboration with District Health Department and PU College and NGOs. Apart from that an exhibition was also organised for the students.

Radio Manipal

<p>To inform, educate, and entertain and empower people with information,so that they will know their rights. By 2020, the community radiostation should become self-sustaining and community should be ableto take part in all activities of the Community Radio Station.</p>

<p>Radio Manipal, Community Radio Station was established in 2008 at Manipal Institute of Communication. The process of setting up radio started way back in 2004 by applying to start Campus Radio with the intention of utilizing the university&rsquo;s wide range of knowledge and infrastructure to fulfil the objective of service to the society. The broadcast intention was to cater to the student community as well as local agricultural and fishing community.</p>

Content is yet to be updated by the station.

<p>Signature Programme: Darpana,Vikasa,ArogyaBhagya,Kadalathadi,MaathuGeethe,KanoonuMahithiKrishiloka,Yakshagana Community Participation: Workshops are held regularly for college students and community volunteers like Anganwadi workers, to help them work in content development. Innovations in format: Mukha-Mukhi (face to face), is a programme in which the microphone goes to the field, to understand and address the problems of people.</p>

<p>Fundng and partnerships Everything from infrastructure to daily maintenance is borne by Manipal University.</p>

<p>We have collaborated with the local NGOs for content generation and also by getting volunteers. And the active involvement of the local organisations has helped us carry out programmes for the last five years.</p>
