Talimi Mela i.e. education fair is one of the biggest cultural fest of Jamia Milia Islamia and is open for all. Colleges and schools from all over the country participate into it.

Radio Jamia

<p style="text-align: justify;">Vision: Radio Jamia Provide wholesome Programmes to entertain and enrich the lives of its listeners by promoting peace, coexistence, secularism and entertainment etc. Addition of a radio station in the campus in this environment proves to be a unique feat in due course of time. Beside student and teachers of the university, people from diverse socio-economic, educational and cultural background live in the target area, also participate in radio programmes.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Mission: Radio Jamia is actively involved with the community members along with the campus student. Staff of the Radio Jamia contact listeners to cover entertainment, education, health, employment and other social issues. Radio Jamia is a platform for the marginalized section of the society. The budding talents of the university get a chance to hone their artistic and Technical skills by contributing for this radio.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Radio Jamia is the first CR in an around of Jamia Millia Islamia and situated near the bank of Yamuna and on the other side there is Okhla Industrial Area. The CRS is in the vicinity of industries,several Educational institution and several villages. Having this background Radio Jamia was conceived to provide a platform to the diverse community of the area and serve it by involving the members of the community. The authority of Jamia Millia Islamia felt that a community radio station to be established in the campus to cater to the student community and the general community of the area and got licensed to run a CRS in the campus.</p>

Jamia Community Radio (JCR) is a programme of the Jamia Millia Islamia, a Central University. It operates on 90.4 MHz frequency. It broadcasts its programmes for six hours daily between 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and 2:00 – 5:00 pm.

<p>Signature Programme: Yeh Janna Zaroori Hai Community Participation: Students and staff of Jamia Millia Islamia and local community members participate in the radio programmes as volunteers. Innovations in format: Interview, Discussion, VOX POP and from time to time we prepare programmes on the basis of the feedback received from listeners. Outdoor recording with the community members and phone-in programmes have also been conducted.</p>

<p>Funding and Partnerships The Radio Station was established with funding from Jamia Millia Islamia for infrastructure development and procurement of technical items. The funding strategy being followed presently centres on a levy received from student of the university. There are plans for getting advertisements and sponsorships as part of future funding plans.</p>
