Janapadaloka is a programme about a musical instrument, popularly known as 'Chowdike'. 'Chowdike' is a singe string instrument comprising of sting, stock, brass drum and leather covering the brass drus. It is an instrument of accompaniment for Janpada at times it is used in the instrument for slogas. The programme talks about instrument as it is identified among the community members but at the same time it is on the verge of extinction. This is an award-winning programme and was awarded under Promoting Local Culture category during the National Community Radio Awards held in February 2013.

<p>This radio endeavours for upliftment of thecommunity in the field ofhealth, education, agriculture, &nbsp;technical training, water resource and management, women and child development, rural development and community development.</p>

<p>Neladani Community Radio was inspired by the social intervention by the organisation DivyajyothiVidya Kendra that works in the areas of livelihood and education for the rural poor and also conducts welfare programmes and humanitarian response programmes.</p>

The CRS Divya Vani Neladhani @90.8 MHz broadcasts its programmes for four hours daily between 6:00 am – 8:00 am and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

<p>Signature Programme: ChinnaraLoka Community Participation: The Program Committee which is drawn from the community invites experts, general public, and community leaders to decide about the content for the radio station on varied subjects like agriculture, education andmedicine. Innovations in format: The main theme being agriculture, the focus of the radio station is to bring back organic farming for sustainability. Exclusive programmes for women and social workers were also aired.</p>

<p>Funding and Partnerships: Infrastructure development &ndash; The organisation DivyajyothiVidya Kendra has contributed towards the development of infrastructure.Procurement of technical items was done with the support of Department of Agriculture,Government of Karnataka.</p>

<p>Community participation is positive in terms of bringing in experience from bottom to top.Certain aspects like organic farming which has gone into oblivion due to green revolution was brought back due to the intervention of CRS broadcasting.</p>

<p><strong>Core Team:</strong><br />The production team consists of a production executive along with production committee. The programmesareexecuted in consultation and co-ordination with the station manager, programme executive, production committee and anchors.</p> <p><br /><strong>CRMC Members:</strong><br />The station management committee is steered by the community in co-ordination with the station manager and also in coordination with DivyajyothiVidya Kendra. The programme committee interacts with the anchors and programme executives for the programme content and the persons to be invited for broadcasting. The technical committee coordinates with the technical staff of the radio station for technical inputs.</p>
