This is a live phone-in programme based on solar lantern. In this programme, we discuss the ways of getting solar facilities in a village.

Saathi Haath Badhana (Domestic violence) (Hindi)

This episode of Saathi Haath Badhana is based on the issue of domestic violence which is quite rampant in India. Women often face cruel behaviour of her husband and other members of family for reasons like dowry, not giving birth to male child etc. This episode tries to look into the reasons of domestic violence while seeking its solutions from people who often face it.

The 4th episode of the series is based on 'superstition' (andhvishvash) prevailed in in rural area. The aim of the programme is to make people aware about the ill effects of superstitions in their normal life.

<p>CMS Girls Degree College started the radio as en effective medium for providing education to members of poverty-ridden community with no access to entertainment. The idea of education here includes raising awareness on social issues, particularly those concerning women, like female foeticide and inheritance laws.</p>

CMS Community Radio @90.4 MHz broadcasts programmes daily for eight hours between 11:00 am – 3:00 pm and 7:00 – 11:00 pm

Geeto Ki Jhankar Folk Music Folk music is played recorded by the community members themselves. Aims to also conserve folk culture.
Nanho Ki Dunia Rhymes and Songs Rhymes and songs recorded by school children and some children from slums area, children set their own tune.
Shakti and Anmol Ratna Interviews Women who are excelling in their area of work are invited and they are the role models for other women.
Sathi Haath Bhadhana Plays (Dramas) Addresses a variety of social issues related to rural community; community members participate with great enthusiasm. Broadcast every Thursday at 8:00 am
Janhit Me Jari Pre-Recorded Information about various Government schemes is shared every Monday. 15-20 minute slot. Sometimes officers from various government departments are also invited in our studio to give details about various schemes and plans for common people. There is also a live broadcast of this programme.

<p>Signature Programme: Community Baatcheet Community Participation: Programmes are prepared with active participation of community members during village visits undertaken by CMS Community Radio team members. Community members often express a need for programmes on agriculture, sanitation and hygiene besides advice on legal aspects and mother and child care. Innovations in Format Some innovative programmes involving community are in discussion and these will take the shape of radio programmes very soon. This will be a mile-stone for the local community.</p>

<p>Funding and Partnerships All expenses related to infrastructure and equipment at the point of inception were met by the school since CMS Community Radio is a unit of City Montessori School which also pays for staff salaries, production costs and other expenses.</p>

<p>Residents of Malhaur village complained of the state of village roads during a phone-in programme entitled Community Forum. The village roads were cleaned up after the CMS radio team invited local officials to reply to the villagers&rsquo; problem.</p>
